Does the microphone need batteries?
No. The TRUETAM L1 is an analogue microphone and works without batteries — just plug in the 3.5mm jack.
Will it work with my smartphone?
If your device has a 3.5mm port, the microphone plugs in directly. For most current iPhones and some Android devices without one, you'll need a USB-C or Lightning adapter.
Does it work with a camera or recorder too?
Yes. The 3.5mm jack fits most cameras and audio recorders with a microphone input. More on connecting it in our Guides.
Can I record outdoors with it?
Yes. The included foam windscreen cuts down on wind noise and harsh "P" and "B" sounds outdoors, without changing the sound.
How do I attach the microphone properly?
The metal clip attaches to a collar, lapel or any fabric. A step-by-step guide is in "How to attach the TRUETAM L1 correctly".
How do I order and pay?
Fill in the order form on the homepage — we'll get in touch by phone or email to confirm. Payment is made to the courier on delivery, by cash or card, with no upfront payment. Details in Payment.
Where does TRUETAM deliver to?

What if the product isn't right for me?
